Planned Parenthood fraud case appealed

The FCA forbids government contractors
from submitting "false or fraudulent" claims for payment.

"No one should be permitted to scam the public treasury for profit," said Jay Sekulow, chief counsel of the ACLJ. "The FCA was designed to remedy such illegal runs on taxpayer money."

The qui tam lawyer Los Angeles brought in federal court by the former Planned Parenthood worker against the business claimed the company fraudulently overbilled the state and federal governments. But attorneys for the prominent law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom began representing Planned Parenthood for free, and the Skadden lawyers convinced the lower court to dismiss the case on technical grounds.
